Covenant Community Church is an amazingly healthy small congregation with roughly 120 members in Northern California. Our mission is to celebrate God, connect with others and change the world. We are authentic, committed believers who care deeply about growing as disciples of Jesus Christ through studying and applying God’s word. We are multigenerational (ages infancy to 100!) with the next generation involved in ministries across the church – students serve in significant roles in our weekly worship praise band, Sunday media team, children’s ministry, and various service and outreach projects. In general, our church body is thriving, but we recognize the need to grow our ministry to children, students, young adults and their parents - especially since we are located in a neighborhood where many new houses are being built. We want to reach and disciple the next generations well.
Position Description:
We are seeking an Assistant Pastor to provide spiritual, theological, administrative, and pastoral leadership for the next generations (infancy through young adults) while also serving more broadly as a pastor to our congregation. Primary responsibilities are to:
- Foster Christian formation and discipleship of all age groups of the next generation
- Plan, oversee and lead programs and events for the next generations, building teams to serve them well
- Provide pastoral care to the next generation and their parents
- Champion the next generation across the church
- Preach, administer sacraments, and perform other pastoral duties
