Church Description:
Westminster Presbyterian Church is a multi generational covenant family of believers called by God to fulfill His purposes here in Laurel, Mississippi, and as a staging ground for worldwide kingdom growth where we seek to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ – to fill the earth with disciples, subdue it redemptively for God’s glory, and worship Him joyfully. Our church has around 250 members, averaging 175 in attendance on Sunday mornings. Westminster was started on January 19, 1986, and we moved into our campus on April 1, 1990. During that time we've had 4 senior ministers.
Position Description:
Primary responsibility will be to provide pastoral oversight and leadership for the discipleship of married couples and families with children in the home, and to provide leadership in the ministry of our youth. Understanding that it is the primary responsibility of the parents to evangelize and disciple their children (Deut. 6:7; Eph. 6:4), this position will be centered on building a culture of discipleship for families. A major goal is to develop a community of common convictions grounded in Scripture.
This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. All areas of ministry for family and youth discipleship will be developed in coordination with the pastor and staff according to the vision and oversight of the Session.
